The company HK BALKONBAU GMBH developed from the company Stahlbau Kreyenberg, which has been active in heavy steel construction since 1983 with the company founder, Hermann Kreyenberg. Steel balconies were also built as part of the steel construction work.
With the development of steel / reinforced concrete balcony systems, the range of applications and requirements also increased, so that the independent company HK BALKONBAU GMBH was founded in 1990.
The structural element steel, which was previously very time-consuming to produce with a steel frame, trapezoidal sheet and epoxy screed, has been replaced by a prefabricated reinforced concrete slab.
This is manufactured in quality-controlled precast factories and combined with steel supports that use the high load-bearing capacity of the material steel.
In 1992 a larger production hall was built because the company premises on Hafenstrasse burst at the seams and two expanding companies - Stahlbau Kreyenberg and HK BALKONBAU GMBH could no longer cope with. With the move to the new production facility at Am Alten Viehhof, a more rational series production could be started, which enabled us to create up to 4,500 balconies per year.
The production and assembly of such quantities can only be achieved with appropriate mechanical equipment and well-trained personnel.
A computer-controlled sawing / drilling line for steel enables several processing steps for the square tube supports in one operation.
In 2000 the aluminum balcony was added to the delivery program. In order to be able to offer competitive balconies right from the start, a new production hall of 1000 m² was built with an investment of 1 million euros and equipped with the latest CNC technology and workstations.
The investment was designed for an annual capacity of 2,000 finished aluminum balconies in one-shift operation.
