Socimbal was founded, in Corroios, in 1987. Our principal activity is the preparation and distribution of savoury snacks and deep frozen pre-cooked dishes.
The overall quality of the range of products marketed under our trade mark Quimbalar has led to a steady increase in market share here in Portugal and abroad. As a result, our factory unit cannot cope with the volume of orders and market demands.
These difficult times are not however, an excuse to not prepare for the future. Bearing in mind the modern demands of the food industry we have a new factory unit in development since March 2003.
As it is the firm intention of the board to have continued and sustainable growth and not be limited in these plans for development by budgets or investiments, we are not limiting our efforts to the physical installations and equipment.
Since the opening of the new unit we have been working with well known foreign companies to implement a series of measures that resulted in us being awarded the Certificate of Quality NP EN ISSO 9001 : 2000. We were also certificated for HACCP formerly known as the Codex Alimentarius.
We would have great pleasure in welcoming you to visit us where we could demonstrate how we produce traditional products safely in our modern facilities in the 21st century.
