In 1905 and 1906 the chair manufacturer Hermann Kreher built the main building of our current workshop. At that time, different chair models were manufactured here, which were sold all over Germany. At that time, the machines were still driven by transmissions using hydropower. In 1911, when the power of water was no longer sufficient due to the higher energy requirements, a naphthalene motor was installed. This motor was also used to drive a power generator, which supplied the workshop and the house with electricity. In 1936 Hermann Kreher's son Oswald took over the factory, which continued to mainly produce seating. On October 30, 1945, Oswald Kreher was expropriated on the orders of the Soviet military administration. In 1950, however, he was able to take over the factory himself. After the death of Oswald Kreher in 1964, his son-in-law, chair builder Heinz Dietrich, took over the business. Chairs and upholstered furniture were still manufactured. When Heinz Dietrich died, his son-in-law, master cabinet maker Alfred Sandig, took over the craft business in 1987. After German reunification, the production of seating furniture declined. Since then we have been offering the entire product range of a modern carpentry. Son Marc Sandig has been with the company since 1995 and successfully passed his master craftsman's examination in 2001. In 2003 our workshop was expanded to include a modern paint shop. In 2006 we invested in modern CNC technology. Today we are a modern and efficient craft company.
