Our family business is now in its third generation and was founded in 1936 in Gerstengrund by Aloys Wehner. The cartwright at the time moved to Motzlar - our current headquarters - two years later. In 1957, son Ludwig Wehner began his apprenticeship as a wheelwright and in 1966 he obtained his master's certificate. At the age of 38 he took over the company and three years later his son - Thomas Wehner - started his carpentry apprenticeship. After successfully completing his master's degree, Thomas received his master's certificate in 1991, this time in the carpentry trade. In 2004 Thomas Wehner took over the carpentry. Over the years, the workshop has been expanded several times and of course a lot has been invested in modern machinery. We have been training successfully since 1999 and have also gladly taken on the young people as journeyman. In 2014 we received the coveted "Stift" training award from the Suhl Chamber of Crafts for very good training. In 2011 son Johannes Wehner started his carpentry apprenticeship in his father's company. With success, because his journeyman's piece is awarded 2nd place at the state level in the "Die Gute Form" competition! In 2018 the joinery Thomas Wehner became the joinery Wehner GmbH
